Breaking news – HUD announced on Monday, January 9th, 2017 that FHA will be lowering their monthly mortgage insurance premiums beginning January 27th, 2017. The monthly mortgage insurance premiums will be reduced from .85% to .60%.
As the nation’s housing market continues to improve, so will mortgage guidelines. HUD’s move to lower mortgage insurance is a great indication of more positive news to come. Remember, we’ve already seen the USDA lower their mortgage insurance and funding fee requirements, as well as Fannie Mae raising the county loan limits across the nation!
